Interested to become a BIOSTAT PhD student?

For those interested in a PhD-track there are several possibilities to obtain a scholarship. Feel free to contact us if you want to discuss one of them. Tell us about your research plans and when we find a common ground, we will guide you through the preparation of a research proposal.

  • For promising students with a residence in Flanders : an FWO scholarship could be a possibility.
  • For promosing students that are coming from developping countries and who wish to carry out half of their PhD research at Ghent University ('North') and half at a university in a developing country ('South'): a UGent BOF scholarschip belongs to one of the possibilities.
  • For those intending to apply for a Chinese CSC scholarship and who are still looking for a supervisor: contact us to apply for a UGent CSC-preference grant on top of your CSC grant.
  • For those that obtained a HEC grant through the Higher Education commission of Pakistan or are planning to apply for one: contact us if you feel your research interests fits our group.
  • For researchers affiliated to a home university and aim for a PhD degree: we can setup collaborations through a joint PhD program and plan yearly visits (minimum duration 1-2 months) to collaborate with the intention to obtain a PhD degree jointly between Ghent University and your home university.
