Bastiaan Aelbrecht Van Velthoven

Bastiaan A. Van Velthoven is a research and teaching assistant. His PhD research is delving into the statistical wonders of extremes in time series analysis. Besides that, Bastiaan is teaching the lab sessions of probability and statistics in the BSc of bioscience engineering.

Experience

Bastiaan held a short research position exploring the links between information and quantum theory before he joined our department. Currently, he is organizing the statistics discussion groups for BIOSTAT, monthly gatherings for statistical discussions and lectures.

Education

MSc in Physics and Astronomy
Great distinction, Ghent University (2020)
