Lixuan An is a PhD student funded through the China Scholarship Council (CSC) for which she was additionally preselected for a special research fund of Ghent University. Her PhD work is around the development of a combined framework of machine learning and extreme value theory to detect anomalous patterns in data sets. Developments are being evaluated on data from climate applications and smart cities.

Experience

During her studies Lixuan was yearly awarded national scholarships and competition prizes as top student of her year. During her PhD she presented her work at several international conferences.
